REGULATION FOR SAFETY OF SPENT FUEL MANAGEMENT Decree of the Council of Ministers № 196, 2 August 2004, promulgated in the State Gazette № 71 of August 13, 2004 Chapter One SCOPE Article 1 (1) This Regulation covers the requirements for nuclear safety and radiation protection of the spent nuclear fuel (SF) management. (2) The Regulation sets down requirements for all stages of the lifetime of the facilities for SF management – site selection, design, construction, commissioning, operation and decommissioning. (3) This Regulation deals with all activities of SF management – storage, transport at the site and SF handling and all connected with these activities sites and facilities. (4) This Regulation sets down specific requirements to the design and operation of separate facilities for SF management using wet and dry storage technology.
