1. Short title. – These rules may be called the Mineral ConcessionRules, 1960.1.Short title. – These rules may be called theMineral Concession Rules, 1960.2.Definitions – In these rules, unless the contextotherwise requires, -(i)"Act" means the Mines and Minerals [(Development and Regulation)]Act, 1957 (67 of 1957);(ii)"Form" means a form set out in schedule I to these rules;(iii)"railway" and "railway administration" have the meaningsrespectively assigned to them in the Indian Railways Act, 1890 (9 of 1890);(iv)"Schedule" means a schedule appended to these rules.(v) "section"means a section of the Act.3.
