2002· 5·13Act No. 6700 CHAPTER I GENERAL PROVISIONSArticle 1 (Purpose) The purpose of this Act is to contribute to the development of national economy and the improvement of national welfare, by determining the Government's basic policy and its directions for the rational management, preservation, development and utilization of the sea and marine resources, and the fostering of marine industries. Article 2 (Basic Ideology) In recognition of facts that the sea is a thesaurus of natural resources and a ground for living as well as a route of logistics, and as such it exerts great influences on the national economy and national living, the basic ideology of this Act is to cultivate the opulent and vivid sea to be bequeathed to the future generations, by creating the environment in which the marine industries may be put into a practical knowledge and a high value-added status, and be informatized, and by seeking after the environment-friendly and continuable devel...
