ANIMAL DESTRUCTION ACTRL 11187-28 December 1918ARRANGEMENT OF SECTIONS1 Short title 4 Owner of animal killed to be notified2 Killing of straying swine 5 Declaration of killing to the Police3 Killing of straying swine, goats or poultryl Short titleThis Act may be cited as the Animal Destruction Act.2 Killing of straying swine(1) Notwithstanding any other enactment, swine found straying in any street, publicroad or place, may be killed by any police officer or by any person authorised in writing bythe Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health.(2) The carcases of the swine so destroyed shall be conveyed to the nearest policestation where they may be claimed by the owner within 6 hours.(3) Where the carcases are not so claimed, they may be disposed of as the sanitaryauthority may direct.3 Killing of straying swine, goats or poultryNotwithstanding any other enactment, swine, goats or poultry found straying on anyprivate premises or cultivated land may, at the request of the owner or occupier ...
