S T A T U T O R Y I N S T R U M E N T S 2006 No. 737 ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION The Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading Scheme (Amendment) Regulations 2006 Made - - - - 12th March 2006 Laid before Parliament 16th March 2006Coming into force - - 6th April 2006 The Secretary of State has been designated(a) for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972(b) in relation to greenhouse gas emission allowance trading. She makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred upon her by that subsection and by section 2(1) of the Pollution Prevention and Control Act 1999(c) (the “1999 Act”). In accordance with section 2(4) of the 1999 Act she has consulted the Environment Agency, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency, such bodies or persons appearing to her to be representative of the interests of local government, industry, agriculture and small businesses respectively and such other bodies and persons as she considers appropriate.
