S T A T U T O R Y I N S T R U M E N T S 2006 No. 1248 MARINE POLLUTION The Merchant Shipping (Prevention of Air Pollution from Ships) Order 2006 Made - - - - 9th May 2006 Laid before Parliament 19th May 2006 Coming into force - - 12th June 2006 At the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 9th day of May 2006 Present, The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council This Order is made only for the purpose of giving effect to the Protocol of 1997(a) to amend the Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships, 1973(b), as modified by the Protocol of 1978 relating thereto (c) (which added to that Convention Annex VI containing regulations for the prevention of air pollution from ships). Accordingly, Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by section 128(1) (da), (3) and (4) of the Merchant Shipping Act 1995(d), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order as follows: Citation and commencement 1.
