These Regulations makeprovision for a purpose mentioned in section 2(2) of the European CommunitiesAct 1972 and it appears to the Secretary of State that it is expedient forreferences in these Regulations to Council Regulation (EC) No 338/97 (on theprotection of species of wild fauna and flora by regulating trade therein(d))and to Commission Regulation (EC) ...
